La Boheme - Act 2

La Boheme - Act 2

Ladies and Gentlemen I give you Puccini's La Boheme - Act 2, Cafe Momus, Paris, Chistmas Eve c1830.  It's been such a delight revisiting this dear old friend and paying tribute to one of the greatest of love stories.

I got to listen to many different recordings, some old favourites and some I hadn't heard before, it was a lot of fun.  Of them all my top three would have to be Tebaldi/Borgonzi, Ricciaelli/Carreras and Callas/diStefano with de los Andeles/Bjorling a very close fourth.

The newest remastering of the Callas set has made me listen to it in an entirely new way.  I was never a fan of it for some reason but this latest one is so clear it sounds like they are in the room with you.  Just fabulous.
