What I'm listening to this Queen's Birthday Holiday...

If you are like me and have been spending a good deal of this year in anticipation of one of the most eagerly awaited studio recordings for some time then your time has come.  

Warner's new recording of Verdi's Aida with star singers Jonas Kaufmann and Anja Harteros as the doomed lovers and conducted by Sir Antonio Pappano has been pre-released on Soundcloud prior to it's October release.

And here it is in all it's glory, disappointing cover art aside.  I'll be spending the rest of this sunny public holiday listening to this highly anticipated release while working on a website commission, so expect a review to follow soon.
