As a tribute to Inge Borkh (born 26 May 1917 or was it 1921?), one of the greatest Salome's of the mid Twentieth Century, I HAD to share this portrait - a classic of studio portraiture of the era.
She recorded the final scene in the studio twice, once with Fritz Reiner and the Chicago Symphony in 1955 (a long standing personal favourite) and again with Josef Krips and the Vienna Philharmonic in the Sofiensaal, Vienna in 1956. It's the latter I'd like to share below as it's a rarity I think should be shared and enjoyed.
