Wednesday evening inspiration

Müller -View of Prague where Charles Bridge crosses the Vltava river
Die Moldau has long been one of my favourite pieces of orchestral program music.  Smetana's masterpiece of nationalistic pride that is the highlight of his cycle Ma Vlast (My Country) has been recorded by practically every orchestra with access to a recording studio.

My absolute favourite pick of the bunch is by Herbert von Karajan and the Berlin Philharmonic.  Karajan's pace and sense of style are gorgeous, captured beautifully by Deutsche Grammaphon and certainly worthy of repeated listening. Great listening for a Wednesday evening, especially coupled with Vysehrad (The High Castle), one of it's companions, I hope you enjoy yours.
