And we were all just a few days ago celebrating his 90th birthday. As a final tribute to a voice I've loved since I was a boy one piece stands out over all the others. The very first piece of opera that made me sit up and go WOW...I LOVE THIS!
I have Carlo Bergonzi in partnership with Renata Tebaldi to thank for that first taste of what has become a lifelong love affair. Rest in peace Maestro Bergonzi, I'm left speechless by your passing, and forever grateful for opening my young ears to an artform of such sublime beauty, one which I cannot live without and a reason for my very being.
