Today's image is a quick sketch I did yesterday for a scenic design for Richard Strauss' Salome. I wanted to capture a Nouveau-esque/Orientalist feel inspired by the stage works of Gunther Schneider-Siemssen. A digital work done in approximately three hours.
The soundtrack to the painting of this was the early Moralt recording with Walburga Wegner and Josef Metternich which stands up surprisingly well for it's age.
