Image of the Day/New Work

This is a speed painting I did today based on the Tarnhelm, the mystical helmet forged by Mime for Alberich in Wagner's Das Rheingold.

It's qualities of shape shifting and being able to travel great distances in the blink of an eyelid have sinister consequences whenever it's motive appears and I sought to imbue this sense of foreboding and terror in the image.
