To celebrate the arrival today in the post, of my new recording of Richard Strauss' Salome, I thought I'd share this stunning painting by Rudolph Ernst, Salome and the Tigers.
Incidentally, the recording is the vintage broadcast from 1953 with Astrid Varnay, Julius Patzak and Margarete Klose, conducted by Hermann Weigert. A review will follow, have a great week.
