Image of the Day

As you might already be aware, I have a great fondness for album art from what I think is opera's Golden Age of recording, the 50's and 60's.  Recently I purchased a rerelease of the above disc, coupled with La Nilsson as Kundry and Sieglinde, in studio recordings with Helge Brilioth and Norman Bailey, conducted by Leif Segerstam, as well as her rendition of the Wessendonck-Lieder and a couple of other rarities.  I knew about the Knappertsbusch recording of Isolde but was unaware of her recorded Sieglinde.  And I am so glad I found it, her interpretation is radiant and she continually astounds me with the versatility of her voice, not to mention her gifts of characterisation.
