New Work

At last I have completed Our Family Secret, an image I started work on some time ago and formed the basis to my 40th Birthday invitation.  It is in part an homage to The Picture of Dorian Gray, that fabulous novel by Oscar Wilde.

I am drawn to the idea of a person trapped in stone as it were, a macabre object found in the family attic, something that everyone in the family knows about but does not want to acknowledge.  Something you might find in a Hammer Horror.  It is of course a self-portrait, something I get a lot of enjoyment from, it is great fun to paint yourself as different characters.
