Things To Do This Weekend, part 2: Bach's Brandenburg Concerto's

As part of the 2011 Perth international Festival, the Academy of Ancient Music is performing all 6 of Bach's Brandenburg Concerto's tomorrow afternoon from 5pm at the Perth Concert Hall.  This one of the musical events this year that I am very much looking forward to.

Under the leadership of Richard Egarr, the AAC seem to have rediscovered the virtuosity and ingenuity that made them so popular since their formation in 1973 by Christopher Hogwood and proved to have endured ever since, helping usher in the current trend for period instruments.

Another festival event of interest is the Tomas Saraceno:Cloud City installation in Langley Park, Perth.  

"Challenging the boundaries of earthly living, Saraceno explores the possibilities of airborne living, predicting a social space in which moving over the world can be seamless and free, and where the environment might benefit from humans inhabiting the skies."

This looks rather fascinating and is open for viewing:
